REVIEW & SWATCHES: Cocokind Collective Mushroom-Charged Highlighters

Earlier this month, Cocokind (an organic skincare and makeup brand) released three shades of their mushroom-charged highlighters, and when I saw them teased on their Instagram I DIED. First of all, highlighter might be my favorite makeup product to apply because looking dewy is of the utmost importance to me, and secondly I just love Cocokind and what they're about. The owner, Priscilla, seems so passionate and involved with the brand and they make some really wonderful skincare products. But let's talk about these highlighters.

There's three shades, they come in stick form (the packaging is just like their other stick products - the Macabeet is one of my faves), and you can buy them separately for $12 each or in a pack of 3 for $33, so definitely on the affordable end of the spectrum. They're sheer on first swipe, but easy to build, and it provides a shimmery finish rather than glittery. I think these work best when they're warmed up a little rather than going straight in with the stick. I like to use my finger to pick up some product and dab on so I don't run the risk of lifting my base underneath, or you could do a few strokes on your hand and warm it up that way. The inclusion of the mushrooms in the formulas is to bring in some skincare benefits, and each one incorporates a different mushroom. Overall, I think the set is worth picking up because it's a good price for a good variety of highlighter shades that offer a natural glow, are versatile, easy to travel with and easy to use. They're also 100% vegan! If you're curious about the mushroom aspect, Cocokind actually did a really informative post about it which I won't bother regurgitating, so you can read up on it here.
