August New Product Lineup
I've had some really exciting new products land on my vanity recently, and some are new releases while some are just new to me! I wanted to a highlight a few that I'm particularly pumped about digging into, and a few I've got some first impressions/initial thoughts on! I'm covering makeup, haircare, skincare and deodorant, so let's get into all this newness.
Onomie AHA! Perfecting Setting Powder, launching soon*: this powder is an upcoming release from Onomie, and a uniquely skincare-led formula for makeup. It's a translucent setting powder that claims to do what most powders should - set your makeup and blur your pores, but with an added skincare benefit. The formula includes Lactic Acid for exfoliation and hydration, peptides and vitamin C, the latter which is time-released to provide benefits throughout the day. It includes a puff and mirror in the twist off portion, and below is the powder with a sifter similar to Glossier's Wowder. The packaging is a little bulky for travel, but I do love the inclusion of the puff and mirror in a separate compartment so I have everything I need for touch ups. It'll be difficult to track how the skincare benefits really work, but I'll be testing to see how it works in the current hot weather vs. the colder months with my drier skin.
Coco & Eve 'Like a Virgin' Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque, $44.90 incl. tangle tamer brush**: my dry ends are in never ending need of moisture as I'm attempting to mend the sun damage I've done to my hair this summer, so this Coco & Eve mask came at the perfect time. The mask is vegan, sulfate-free and cruelty-free, and smells incredible - basically summer in a hair mask, the scent is SO so good. Some of the ingredients include coconut & fig extract, as well as argan oil and linseed, to help provide glossiness and smooth out the frizzies. There's also dimethicone in it, which will provide that silkiness and shine. It's a super quick mask that only takes 5-10 minutes, and I like using the brush in the set to distribute the product through. There's a noticeable difference in the smoothness and shine of my hair after using, and the ends look tamed instead of their typical frayed and crazy state. The mask is a thicker texture, so definitely something I prefer to keep to the bottom of my hair, but it's great for a weekly touch-up to keep my split-ends in check and give a boost of moisture. Also, a little goes a long way so I imagine I'll have this tub for quite a while!
Biossance Squalane + Micronutrient Fine Mist, $32*: I'm pretty sure that mists are slowly taking over as the product I own the most of right now, but I go through them so quickly because I love them so. There's nothing as refreshing as a cool mist in the middle of the day, but I also love following up a cleanse with a mist to prep myself for the rest of my routine. I actually didn't know Biossance had a mist until they sent this over, but one that has squalane and hyaluronic acid in it? YES, PLEASE. I like mist formulas that actually provide hydration and don't feel like I'm just spraying water on my face, so I have high hopes that this will give me a boost of moisture. It's also alcohol-free, but does have essential oils in case you might be sensitive.
Corpus Naturals Natural Deodorant Mini Trios in Santalum, Third Rose and Cedar Flora, 3 for $22*: because I can be indecisive, I decided to try a mini trio from Corpus Naturals so I can try a few of their scents and have some travel friendly options also. Corpus Naturals makes vegan, cruelty-free, aluminum-free, paraben-free, no talc, no baking soda, no propylene glycol deodorants, and the scents feel so unique and elevated. The texture melts down quickly against the skin and takes a little bit to set since it's so creamy. It's nice for everyday, but not the best for when I'm being really active in terms of keeping the sweat at bay. The scents go on stronger but quickly fade to something more subtle, but they are unique and I love the aesthetic of the packaging. I'm not sure about the full-size, but the minis are push-up packaging which can be tough to control and not push the whole stick up. I'll leave the scent descriptions below of the one's I own, but they currently have 5 options! From their site, it looks as if their inventory is currently sold out, but if you have a hard time finding a natural deo without baking soda and want to try some beautiful scents, you might want to try these out!
Santalum: Sandalwood, Sandalwood Root, Texas Cedarwood, Amber
Third Rose: Rose, Italian Mandarin, Violet, Cedar Root
Cedar Flora: Cedar, White Musk, Jasmine, Guaicawood
Salt by Hendrix 'Flowers in Your Hair' Neroli, $16*: first of all, can we talk about this packaging? Secondly, contrary to the name of the product you can use this on your hair AND body. It includes aloe to nourish, and the neroli scent is super subtle, so even if you spritz it 20x it won't smell crazy strong. It's definitely an extra little luxury to have, but still nice for a mid-day refresh when you need a pick-me-up, or want an extra finishing touch before heading out the door.
